My client is a leading US investment looking to hire a funds lawyer into their London office on a permanent basis.
This position will be responsible for a broad range of activities and legal matters across all areas of the firm, working with a variety of lawyers and support staff on the Legal team. There will be significant interaction with the business teams, clients, managers and other external parties.
Key responsibilities include -
- Provide legal support on all aspects of the firm's business, including investment, research and operations
- Work with internal investment, operations, compliance, and risk teams on developing and refining process and strategy
- Draft and negotiate agreements, including investment management, advisory and non-disclosure.
- Support the organisation of special purpose vehicles and/or single investor funds across multiple jurisdictions (including (i) legal, regulatory and tax structuring, and (ii) drafting limited partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, and associated offering documents)
- Ad hoc legal research
- Oversee the execution of corporate deadlines and maintenance of corporate records
- Other corporate matters.
A strong candidate should have relevant experience from a leading UK or US law firm or a reputable asset manager. Ideally a successful candidate should have experience with alternative investment fund formation (Private, Debt and Hedge funds), or representing institutional clients and/or managers in AIF primary, secondary, and direct (co-investment) transactions.
