Pre-eminent City firm seeks an experienced Intellectual Property lawyer, preferably with at least 6PQE, to support the firm's highly regarded IP practice, working independently but alongside the firm's tech PSL and with know-how support. The IP group deals with a diverse range of major IP work across various industry sectors including TMT, life sciences, financial services, publishing, consumer and retail and healthcare. The work encompasses the full range of IP litigation and non-contentious IP work, including commercial agreements (such as licences, R&D collaborations and franchising) and corporate transactions where IP is a key asset.

This role would suit an experienced IP fee-earner, looking for his/her first PSL position, or an existing IP PSL. Applicants for this position will have a wide range of IP experience from another high calibre IP practice. Some life sciences sector experience would be very welcome but is not necessary for the role. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and drafting skills. A positive, "can do" attitude and flexibility is key.

The new IP PSL will have a broad reaching role with primary responsibility for disseminating IP know how and generally supporting the IP practice, reporting directly to the partners. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) devising and delivering training to fee-earners and assisting with client training; drafting and editing articles; responding to fee-earner queries and generally keeping the team up to date with legal and commercial developments; maintaining/updating the firm's IP documents; contributing to client pitches and attending external conferences and events. It was also include, as with all PSL roles now, supporting firmwide initiatives such as the use of technology to promote practice efficiency.

Highly competitive, leading City package on offer.
