Interim Investigations Lawyer for a medical regulator, London, £Competitive hourly rate

A regulatory body for medical professionals based in central London. They are currently looking for additional legal support in he form in interim Lawyers for an ongoing high profile investigation.

Your new role
In your new role, you will support the screening and investigation department in the delivery of a dedicated investigation service to the Fitness to Practise directorate with specific responsibility for providing support and advice to the case investigation teams, primarily the high profile and complex investigation team. You will also act as a point of contact for key stakeholder engagement both internal and external to the organisation on high profile and complex areas of work as directed. You will be required to support the senior investigation lawyer in the progression of all their cases and enquiries and liaise regularly with external investigators and the Head of Department.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you should hold a professional legal qualification and be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent. You must have demonstrable experience of appearing as an advocate before a range of tribunals and relevant casework experience in regulatory law. You should have an understanding of the professional regulation framework and fitness to practise issues and have experience of working in a politically sensitive environment and/or dealing with high profile sensitive issues. Finally, you should have the capacity to be calm under pressure and work flexibly to meet changing demands.
