Legal and Compliance Director - UK - Life Sciences

Our client, a market leading multinational medical devices company now seeks an experienced life sciences lawyer to operate as their Legal and Compliance Director for the UK and Ireland.

Reporting to the Regional (country) VP and European Legal Director, this key role will sit on both the European legal and UK leadership teams and manage a small but experienced compliance team.  The role will oversee all legal and compliance matters including the implementation of new commercial projects, business models and advise on a broad range of legal issues including commercial contracts, litigation, data protection, compliance and regulatory matters as well as employment, public procurement, corporate and competition law. 

You will be a UK qualified lawyer with strong existing experience of working in or with the medical devices or broader life sciences sector (pharmaceuticals or biotechnology). You will also ideally have existing people management experience and the ability to work in both a 'hands on' role and within a matrixed international organisation. Further languages in addition to English would be advantageous but are not a necessity.
