Leading US law firm is looking to expand their Marketing & Communications department by hiring a Public Relations & Communications Assistant to report directly to the Director. This role is fantastic opportunity for a marketing junior looking to get in to or continue their career in a professional services environment. Our client is looking for bright applicants with only 6+ months marketing, business development, PR or communications experience who are educated to degree level and have a real passion for their role and has the attitude of being keen to work hard, learn and deliver – plus being a team-player with the attitude of no job too big or too small. In this role you will be initially responsible to provide administrative support to the PR and Directories/Recognitions teams where you are confident that you can draft internal and external communications, are willing to get stuck in and go the extra mile. Applicants will need to have very strong writing skills as you will be drafting articles. Responsibilities will include being asked to track team projects, including deadlines and deliverables, in coordination the Public Relations and Directories submissions teams, coordinate the saving and uploading of submissions, assist in drafting submissions for legal directories or awards as needed, manage the upkeep of team resources as well as maintain the library of the team’s shared files, monitor, organise, and report on the firm’s media mentions, including for firm and practice and industry group newsletters, research media outlets and journalists for purposes of developing and updating media distribution lists, support the team by drafting and managing website postings, assist with the process for byline article placements, copyright agreements and article reprints, help coordinate and post social media communications on the firm’s Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook platforms and conduct research on a project basis. Personal skills required include strong written and verbal communication skills, planning/organizational skills, being a self-starter and strong at problem solving plus the ability to adapt and change to balance competing needs and deliverables. This firm is housed in stunning offices, with standard hours being 9:30 – 17:30. Applicants must be strong on MS Office, any previous experience on InterAction, CM/Docketing or any other marketing/CRM databases would be beneficial.
