An excellent and rare opportunity for an academic paralegal with an interest in Healthcare/Medical Law to join a national law firm in their Healthcare Litigation team in Newcastle. In particular, our client is looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and bright individuals with a genuine interest in medical law and the healthcare sector to assist them on high quality matters in their Newcastle office.

It is essential for this Healthcare Paralegal role you have elected to study medical negligence at University or have obtained some work experience within this sector. Our client is currently the market leader of their specialist sector. The firm is ever expanding, and this is the first time they have recruited a paralegal for this team in Newcastle, which as an office has 20 people. Candidates with a real interest in this area and the relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

The Role
-You will assist the defendant Clinical Negligence/Healthcare litigation department on high quality defendant Clinical Negligence matters.
-This will include drafting legal documents, reviewing medical records, completing legal research, taking witness statements and completing general administrative duties.
-You will be working alongside a top class team and will run your own files following a period of training.

The Candidate
-It is essential that you have a genuine interest in medical law and the healthcare sector.
-Ideally you will have previous paralegal experience in a similar environment and it would be preferable if you have experience providing advice on the defence of Clinical Negligence claims.
- Those who chose to medical law/or healthcare in their electives with no practical experience will also be considered
- You will have strong academics
-You will be organised and efficient with great time management.
