Description
My client are currently looking for someone who can lead on delivering a quality grant application experience for the Ocean Stewardship Fund (OSF) and Scholarship Fund. You'll be responsible for the administration of the grant lifecycle within these funds, including receiving applications, initial triage assessment for completeness, reasonableness and level of detail, preparing summaries and information packs for grant awarding decision making bodies within MSC, liaising with applicants, finalising grant agreements and ensuring prompt disbursement of awards.
You will also be responsible for monitoring the receipt of grant outputs defined in the grant agreement (i. narrative & financial reports, access to research results, etc).
You will work to promote and test external & internal policies and requirements, support the development of new control policies (i. procurement), and over time become a depository able to offer business best practice advice in relation to compliance and control issues.
Profile
- Excellent organisational skills, ideally with prior experience of grants administration.
- Knowledge and experience of undertaking internal controls and compliance activities will be highly desirable.
- A strong focus on delivery of excellent customer service with a people centred approach.
- Be versatile in order to combine self-management and self-support when working alone with productive team membership.
- Able to prioritise urgent and essential tasks, to ensure tight deadlines are met.
- A keen attention to detail is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- The ability and confidence to gain the credibility and respect of staff at all levels of the MSC, as well as our external partners, stakeholders and, of course, grant applicants.
