I am currently recruiting for a Contentious Probate Solicitor for a highly regarded firm in Sheffield. My client will also consider very experienced paralegals for this position.
This role will provide direct support to the Head of the Will, Trust and Inheritance Disputes Team in a busy high street firm.
The role requires that the Solicitor provide support to the Head of the team and also manage their own caseload and to assist in restructuring our Court of Protection department, within the team.
The Solicitor will be required to take on a diverse caseload of Contentious Probate and Trusts matters to include:
• Acting for both claimant and defendant clients
• Contesting the Validity of Wills
• Inheritance Act claims
• Trust Disputes
• Estate Disputes
• Power of Attorney Disputes
• Contentious Court of Protection
• Acting for both claimant and defendant clients
• Contesting the Validity of Wills
• Inheritance Act claims
• Trust Disputes
• Estate Disputes
• Power of Attorney Disputes
To be successful in this role you will need:
• Prior experience of managing a contentious probate and trusts caseload is essential
• Good working knowledge of contentious Court of Protection work
• Experience in dealing with high net worth clients and elderly clients.
• Working towards or interest in ACTAPS membership
• Experience in managing/supervising staff is desirable but not essential
• Microsoft Office including Word and Excel is essential
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload within the required timescales
• Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
• Ability to work under pressure as and when required (this may involve some flexibility in working hours).
• Experience of Partner for Windows (case management system) is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
