An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Information Centre Manager to join a well-respected leading international full service law firm in Liverpool City Centre. You will be required to have leadership skills and the ability to work towards the team vision and motivate members of the team. You will be an experienced people manager who is engaged and committed to development of self and team, and possess the ability to communicate effectively and work with partners and other senior stakeholders across the Firm.

Research & Analysis
 
Oversee the IC delivery of:
  • Pro-active and reactive research to provide client and market intelligence to the firm
  • Detailed profiles and reports to support fee earners and business development
  • Quick turnaround legal and business enquires
  • Trend reporting, proactive analysis and assessment of research topics
  • Strategic client SWOT trending opportunities
  • Business analytic tracking for sectors
People
  • Manage and develop Information Centre team to provide a proactive and client driven service to the firm
  • Develop and maintain delivery methods and procedures that enable and encourage optimum performance of people and other resources
  • Responsibility for recruitment and performance reviews of Information Centre team
  • Monitor holidays and workflow of Information Centre team to ensure operational efficiency
  • Deal with, in conjunction with Talent department, performance management or disciplinary issues as required
  • Make recommendations to Head of Department as to how the department might operate more effectively
  • Role model leadership behaviours across our firm and offices acting as a proactive, collegiate and engaged manager.
Data & Reporting
  • Provide regular team highlight/activity reporting to head of KIC
  • Support the delivery of enhancing client data to provide robust client and sector financials
Finance & Procurement
  • Manage, under Head of Department, KIC practice area and business services budgets, reporting, planning and organising expenditure
  • Provide clear budget summaries with commentary for new financial year and reforecast
  • Analyse and make recommendations on international recharge for international licences
  • Manage procurement and renewal process of new and existing resources, including providing ROI reports, supporting negotiations, making recommendations and reviewing contract changes in line with the firm's procurement process
  • Oversee procurement of hard copy materials including books, loose-leafs and journal subscriptions
  • Extract maximum value from the firm's KIC resources, increasing awareness and promoting benefits to the firm
  • Maintain relationships with information vendors, identify, pursue and share developments that may add value
Other responsibilities
  • Pro-active and reactive research to provide client and market intelligence to the firm
  • Detailed profiles and reports to support fee earners and business development
  • Works on projects as required by the business and/or Head of Department
  • Manage ad hoc reviews of available alternative information resources, working with key stakeholders to trial, assess and migrate or implement as appropriate
  • Utilise tools and technology to increase knowledge sharing, collaboration and visibility across the team and the business
  • Ensure KIC procedure documentation is kept up to date and covers all elements of KIC work
  • Work with internal clients to scope, agree and deliver research and analysis to deadline
  • Provide formal and informal training to existing members of staff and new starters
  • Network with equivalent post holders in other organisations
  • Obtain feedback from internal clients to shape future work
  • Support the team to negotiate and agree deadlines
  • Develop and deliver tailored training programmes
  • Proactively work on raising the profile and building the reputation of the KIC
  • Any other duties as we many reasonably expect which are in keeping with the skill and seniority as displayed by the role holder
