Description

As the Senior Regulatory Lawyer you will report directly into the Head of Legal and will be responsible for:

• Providing advice to the Bank in EMEA in relation to regulatory financial services matters, investigations and litigation;
• Investigating any identified potential or actual breach of relevant rules and regulations, to advise on the legal implications of such a breach and assist in reporting to senior management and the regulatory authorities and in rectifying the situation;
• Advising the Bank in EMEA on relevant regulatory projects; and
• Giving advice to any other part of the organisation if requested, including Head Office in relation to matters of English law and regulations and review/ draft documentation for overseas offices where governed by English law.

Profile

The successful candidate is likely to be a qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE who has good experience in a broad range of financial services regulatory matters and an understanding of general banking and finance products which has been gained at a reputable law firm or bank or other financial institution.

In addition you are likely to have:

• Experience of managing litigation matters and internal/external regulatory investigations;
• Expertise in regulatory matters that impact financial services, including in respect of areas such as data protection, cross border licensing rules, dawn raid procedures and MIFID;
• Experience in regulatory matters relating to competition law and EMIR (although this is not essential).
