Niche US law firm, based in London, is looking to hire a new team member to work directly with the MLRO, CFO and London Operational Director to assist with KYC/AML Compliance, the daily finance function and any office operational matters that arise.  Duties will be hugely varied with no two days the same where you will have accountable control and dealings with external clients and Senior Stakeholders.  Compliance duties will include to ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules and regulations, monitor new procedures, Best Practice and SRA regulations, perform New Business intake tasks, liaise with lawyers with UK AML/KYC checks, identify risk and recommend solutions to mitigate risk, work with MLRO to draft/amend policies, manage CDD files, research and identity PEPS with high risk clients and ensure compliance with third-party payments.  With the finance team being based mainly in the States you will be the second pair of hands for the finance function in London, however this firm works with high value clients rather than high volume so relationship building is key which means billing, credit control and the accounts payable functions are undertaken more with a personal touch than being just an email ‘address’.  Additionally you will be asked to get involved in other operational projects such as working with IT on ad hoc projects, assist with new matter set-up, create online KYC/AML training/induction sessions/modules.  Applicants require previous experience of AML and KYC/CDD processes and requirements, VAT knowledge and previous Billing, AP and/or Credit Control is a great advantage. Ideally 3+ years’ experience, degree educated and any professional qualifications would be beneficial plus any previous knowledge of Elite 3E would be welcome.  This is a permanent role, working the hours 9:30am to 5:30pm (flexibility will be required due to the international office exposure) with current working hours being conducted from home.
