Paralegal- 6 month Fixed Term Contract

This is an exciting new opportunity for a Litigation specialist to work in house with a global organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be working on a portfolio of cases which in some cases will be highly technical and complex.You will assist on case strategy, analysing liabilities and assisting, managing third party vendors, negotiating settlements, dealing with customers effectively and liasing with finance on payments.

You will also assist the in-house legal team with the management of all other litigation, which will include; instructing solicitors or counsel direct, managing the conduct of the disputes internally, assessing litigation risks, developing strategy, facilitating settlement meetings and advising on/drafting associated legal documents.

Key responsibilities;

Assist in handling legal expense policies concerning multi-million pound litigation across various jurisdictions

Analysing solicitor files and counsel's advices to perform assessments.

Preparation of reports on litigation to senior management and stakeholders.

Assist with group-wide legal initiatives.

To be successful;

You are likely to have 2 years plus practical experience in a litigation setting.

Experience working in the insurance industry and an understanding of the regulatory requirements will be highly advantageous.

Proven experience of reviewing and drafting legal documents to a high standard.

The ability to communicate effectively across the business and manage your own time effectively.

To be able to work with minimal supervision.
