New opportunity for an experienced In-House Lawyer to join a leading services business based in Manchester. The company is in an exciting period of growth and are seeking to add to their existing legal function.
The successful candidate will form part of a tight knit, high performing legal team which contributes significantly to the business achieving its strategic aims. The business operates in both the Public & Private Sector and has a large footprint across a number of key industries
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the Head of Group Legal and undertake a wide range of legal/commercial duties which make the role varied and challenging.
• Providing up to date and timely commercial legal advice on bids, contracts and renewals
• Working collaboratively with business divisions and functions to assist with the successful completion of projects
• Negotiating and finalising multiple supplier and customer contracts, including FM, Construction (NEC, JCT) outsourcing and energy
• Provide swift support on other legal and commercial issues as they arise for key front line business areas
• To assist occasionally with legal advice concerning M&A, joint venture, IP and other activities relevant to the business
• Assist with the development and maintenance of standard suite of documents
• Build and maintain strong internal relationships with divisional leaders
• Collaborate and share best Practice with the wider legal department
Ideally you will have had exposure to Construction contracts in your career to date, as well as a detailed knowledge of a wide range of commercial agreements (FM and energy sector specific are desirable but not essential) You will be a proven influencer and have operated at Senior stakeholder level in an in-house environment. The team work flexibly and is expected that post-Covid home working will continue.
