Location: West Midlands
Duration: 6 months +
Rate of pay: £15 - £20 per hour umbrella
My client in the West Midlands is looking for an experienced litigation specialist to join their in house team. This role would be ideal for an experienced, senior paralegal or a legal executive. You must be able to carry a caseload of your own files and conduct all relevant actions and negotiations on these. You will need to have a proven track record in a litigious area of the law, ideally in housing litigation or landlord and tenant litigation. Daily tasks may include:
- Handling both Claimant and Defendant work
- Managing a caseload of possession proceedings (including Defence and Counterclaims), Introductory Tenancies, Landlord and Tenant cases, including Section 11 work, Dissolving Trusts, Lodger in occupation
- Dealing with Housing Disrepair Claims
- Dealing with all warrant applications in Court
- Dealing with costs issues after settlement
- Having a solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules
The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the team, managing a caseload of litigation files. You will be au fait with the civil procedure rules and have experience of managing cases following these rules. This is a full time role and candidates must be able to start at short notice.
