Requirements

  • German qualified lawyer / legal counsel (2nd State Exam)
  • 3-8 years of experience in the financial services, banking, payments, FinTech or technology sector
  • Fluent German and English speaker

Location and hours
Preferably either Munich or Berlin, Cologne is also possible. 3 days in the office, 2 days from home. Typically 9.00 - 16.00 but hours can be flexible - travelling outside of rush hour, picking kids up etc is possible.

Role
This is a varied in-house legal role within an innovative, successful and growing organisation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders including commercial, customer facing and supply chain departments, as well as the finance, marketing, product development, technology, HR etc. You will report to the global Head of Legal.

The position focuses on commercial activities in the Continental Europe and the UK, Americas, Middle East etc. This generalist role handles contractual matters including high value complex contracts and big ticket projects, as well as some corporate and regulatory work (let us know of your preferences - there is an opportunity to influence how the work is structured). 

You will: work closely with the business supporting the development of new products and services from the legal perspective, draft, negotiate, optimise and review (both bespoke / unique and templated) commercial agreements including software, supplier, business customer contracts and other types of agreements; advise on the EU and UK laws and regulations relevant to the business; develop and improve existing legal framework and interact with external counsel.

You

  • You are a German qualified lawyer / legal counsel (2nd State Exam) with 3-8 years of experience in the financial services, banking, payments, FinTech or technology sector who is fluent in German and English.
  • You are proactive, intelligent, open minded and enjoy taking on responsibility and developing professionally.
  • If you have experience working with the German BaFin or the British FCA, this is great (but not mandatory).
