Job description

Due to a significant increase in student numbers, the University of Law are seeking to strengthen its bank of tutors and Visiting Lecturers - ideally qualified solicitors or barristers who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience, or experienced law tutors who currently teach across the range of programmes we offer.

The University delivers an extensive portfolio of both postgraduate and undergraduate law programmes including the LPC, GDL, BPC and LLB and we are looking for candidates that can demonstrate expertise in corresponding subject matters.  You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery.

You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our campus.  The role will also include marking in-course assignments and final assessments, as well as supporting students and dealing with queries.

Please note that tutors are employees but Visiting Lecturers are engaged with the University via our worker payroll.

The closing date is the 12 October but early applications are encouraged.  We will be proceeding to shortlist and interview as applications are received.  Interviews will be via zoom, skype or teams.

Package

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits, to include:- 35 days annual leave / Private Medical Scheme / Contributory Pension / Life Assurance / Season Ticket Loans / Cycle to Work Scheme / Eye Care Assistance / Employee Assistance Programme

Please click the apply button for further information and details of how to apply.

No agencies please.

Some posts at the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons,  However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University - which does not reflect our diverse student body - we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates.  All appointments will be made on merit.
