This entrepreneurial FinTech, specialised in consumer payment services, is looking for a Data Privacy/Regulatory lawyer to join its Legal and Compliance team as their in-house expert. Working as 2nd in command to the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for driving regulatory compliance in all areas of the business, particularly around data protection and privacy matters. You will also work closely with the General Counsel on commercial contracts and outsourcing, as well as advising the business on new strategic initiatives and products.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Working with data and product teams to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws, including GDPR and national regulations
  • Developing internal data protection and privacy programs in creative, business-centric ways
  • Advising on commercial contracts issues and outsourcing arrangements, including implementing the EBA guidelines on outsourcing
  • Drafting and implementing policies, procedures and controls across the business
  • Providing strategic advice to the business on regulatory risks for new initiatives and products
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory developments and developing best practices in areas such as regulatory technology
