An award-winning start-up fintech business headquartered in London, with several rounds of funding completed and a stellar representation on the Board of directors, including ex-CEOs of several prominent corporate, finance and insurance brands. the company aims to make (re)insurance risk trading more modern and direct. The business has an impressive growth plan that includes hiring a new General Counsel for its next stage of evolution.

Your new role
With much of the work regarding the regulatory framework already completed, this innovative business requires a solutions-focused and commercially-minded General Counsel to come in and report to the CEO. The position will involve negotiating the onboarding of new clients to the platform, managing and mitigating legal risk and managing third parties in a time effective manner. Working closely with the board, you will find solutions to enable the business' continued international expansion, while understanding the regulatory and legal risks.

What you'll need to succeed
In a highly entrepreneurial environment, you will be an action orientated and commercially driven lawyer, who is able to facilitate business and manage stakeholders at all levels. You will be a private practice trained lawyer where possible backgrounds could be fintech, regulated exchange or other innovative sectors. You will be curious and inquisitive about how to move businesses forward and you will be able to support the business in future fundraisings and acquisitive activities. You will have a minimum of 5 PQE (as a guide) and the credibility to influence across the broader business. An understanding of regulated sectors would be advantageous.
