This is a standout opportunity for a Family Paralegal to join an established award-winning family department. This firm have real growth plans in the framework and have built a reputable foundation; this will give you a platform to succeed.

You will be joining an experienced family team based across two offices in the Exeter and Plymoth Looking for someone, preferably with experience of family/childcare law (Legal Aid background a bonus), to run a mixed caseload of Care

Duties will include.

*Handling and progressing your own caseload comprising publicly funded matters to include Child Care Files, Domestic Abuse, Abduction from start to finish

*Conducting advocacy

*Instructing Counsel where necessary

*Preparing legal documents

*Processing legal aid files and applications

*Assisting with the development of the department and business

The successful candidate will:

*At least 12 months experience of handling family law matters, either as a Paralegal or Trainee Solicitor

*Must demonstrate excellent client care skills - empathy to clients in a difficult situation is vital

*Good written and verbal communication to deal with a broad range of clients and the willingness to provide the highest standard of client care

*Confident telephone manner

*Ability to work under pressure to meet the deadlines

*Outstanding interpersonal and marketing skills with the ability to develop contacts for the firm
