Legal Manager

A fantastic opportunity for a commercial or media lawyer to join a highly regarded publishing company.

A well-known publishing company are looking for a commercial or media lawyer to join the team in a unique role that will support both the legal and contract management division.

The position will provide support in knowledge and template management, learning and development and drafting & advising on complex agreements.

The company are happy to consider candidates looking for a part-time role or remote working.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting the contracts advisors in their work by responding to technical legal queries arising out of the drafting and negotiation of publishing contracts;

• Collaborating with the contract advisors and/or lawyers to create new templates and drafting notes for existing and new areas of business;

• Working with the Head of Legal and Head of Contracts to identify priorities and develop a programme to create and maintain high a quality knowhow resource for the team

• To work closely, vet and/or supervise the work of the contracts advisors on more complex or high profile author or licensor contracts.

To be successful in the role you will be:

• 4 years + post-qualification experience; some experience working in-house, ideally in the publishing, media or entertainment sectors.

• Qualified solicitor (this role does not require a practising certificate)
