Commercial/Energy Solicitor Job in Bristol, London or Exeter + flexible working with leading firm
Your new firm
This national leading law firm provides quality legal guidance across a comprehensive range of services and advises clients across the UK and internationally. The team has an exciting range of work including advising recognised national/international brand names and assisting on high profile matters. They currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious lawyer to join their Commercial team in either their Bristol, London or Exeter offices.
Your new role
This position offers an opportunity to broaden your knowledge and progress your career in a supportive team environment. Our client are looking for an ambitious, talented and commercially astute lawyer who has gained broad experience in energy sector work and who is now looking to develop their expertise further in this field. The role will include servicing work for their key clients in the energy sector as well as advising new clients. It will include advising on a wide range of matters (including regulatory issues), drafting commercial contracts and co-ordinating energy-related due diligence of funding and M&A transactions. You would not be expected to provide advice on e. the real estate, planning or construction-related aspects of energy projects, as these are covered by specialist colleagues in the relevant teams. The role also provides the opportunity to work with the wider commercial team, including on the cross-over into energy tech and data advice. The work is challenging, but the team and firm promote an open and friendly culture whilst being proud and protective of their reputation.
What you'll need to succeed
You should have a passion for commercial work and developing a career in this sector. You will ideally have gained 3+ PQE in a commercial practice with a focus on experience gained in the energy sector. Additionally, good knowledge of technology and GDPR would be an advantage. You will have a genuine interest in promoting business development opportunities and be able to demonstrate an ability to build effective and positive relationships with clients and colleagues that embrace the importance of trust and collaboration. You will also have an interest in sharing knowledge about the energy sector within the firm.
What you'll get in return
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to join a progressive and forward thinking firm where you will receive excellent training and development opportunities. The firm have long embraced agile working and the team are currently all working from home most of the time but, once the effect of the pandemic has subsided, they will remain flexible as to working patterns and location. So, for example, this role might involve 2-3 days a week in one of their offices (e. Exeter, Bristol or London) with the opportunity for business travel to their other offices, whilst also working remotely from home.
