Childcare Lawyer - Permanent
Sellick Partnership are delighted to be working with a well respected Local Authority in the East Midlands, to assist with their permanent recruitment requirements within the Legal Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Childcare Lawyer to join a genuinely supportive, friendly team on a permanent basis. You will report to the Principal Solicitor and also be supported by a team of excellent Legal Officers. There are opportunities available for full time or part time working hours and you will be working remotely for the foreseeable future. Once government guidelines are relaxed and a return to the office is made, their priority is to continue to support their employees and offer as much flexibility as possible.
Main duties of the role include:
- Provide legal advice and representation to the Council on matters relating to child protection
- Hold a caseload of pre proceedings and care proceedings and act as an advocate for the Council during hearings
- Draft legal documents as required and instruct Counsel where necessary
- Liaising with other colleagues, Social Workers, Lawyers from 3rd party organisations and other agencies e. Court/Police
- Assisting in the training and supervision of less experienced employees
