Childcare Lawyer

6 Months

£38,000 - £48,000

Childcare Lawyer is required to join a local authority based in Cambridgeshire on a 6 Months Fixed term contract basis to start from November/ December time ideally.

You will be undertaking a caseload of public childcare matters which will be mainly care proceeding matters on behalf of one key local authority client. These cases vary and can include; EPOs, abuse cases (alcohol and substance, sexual and physical) and adoption matters. Cases vary in complexity and offer a nice variety with the view to pick up more complex cases for those who are keen to do so or coming in at Senior level.

You will have excellent support from a paralegal that is shared with one other lawyer and is equipped to undertake PLO and pre proceeding matters. You will also have access to legal assistants who are able to prepare bundles for you which gives you more time to focus on your casework. They do have in-house counsel for the more complex advocacy however they do encourage lawyers to do as much of their own advocacy as they can and will offer training and support to get up to speed on this.

Our client is very open to receiving applications from candidates who are newly qualified up to the more experienced candidates. They are also happy to consider candidates from a family law or private childcare background as well as those from a public childcare background. This firm prides itself on investing in their employees and so those who are less experienced, it is a great opportunity to gain invaluable training and development. They are keen to hear from candidates who have a passion for this area of law and want to create a real career out of this.

We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Chelsey Newsom in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
