Senior Legal Counsel 6+ pqe - Global Organisation

Our client is a global market leader and due to further growth are looking for a stand alone Senior Legal Counsel. Reporting to the overseas Group General Counsel, you will have full autonomy over a major business unit within the groups international portfolio.

We are looking for a 6+ pqe Commercial Lawyer with a proven in house pedigree who will be comfortable working in a highly independent manner.

Responsibilities

The Senior Legal Counsel will support on a wide range of matters across the group including Commercial, Intellectual Property, Regulatory and Compliance.

Your interactions with the business will involve Finance, Global Account Directors and Legal team, Procurement, IT, Innovation and external law firms.

You will have primary responsibility for the management of all legal issues impacting over 15 European Countries.

Contract drafting, review and negotiation will be core as well as advising on proposed or current transactions and ensuring the compliance to all relevant laws and regulations.

You will support strategic planning and decision making to develop and implement legal strategy and long terms business objectives.

You will provide advice relating to antitrust, anti-corruption/anti bribery and privacy.

There will also be some advisory matters to protect the organisations interests via the management and outsourcing of litigation.

Context

This is a sole role reporting to the General Counsel supporting a major part of the businesses interests. As such, we anticipate this role appealing to a lawyer with training from a leading firm and previous experience in house.

International experience is essential.

Language ability- English essential. Other language skills an advantage.

Backgrounds from B2B and/or B2C.

Ability to work well in a dynamic and forward thinking team.

Hands on and highly developed commercial approach.

This is a key role working within a high growth market leader.

We would prefer the candidate to be Bristol based due to the proximity of the regional hub but applications from other regions will be considered.
