Contentious Probate Solicitor
UK Wide - WFH
£40,000 - £45,000

We are looking to recruit a Litigator who has c.3-5 years’ experience working within Contentious Probate / Will Disputes. You will join a successful and growing team who work within our Dispute Resolution department, but work closely with our Wills & Probate department to ensure there is good crossover and information sharing.

So why should you be interested in working for Simpson Millar?

Well we’re about to embark on what’s likely to see our biggest recruitment year in our history. We’ve managed to maintain our plans throughout 2020, despite what the pandemic has brought, and want to build on the opportunities that has given us. You’ll work alongside industry experts who can help to shape and develop your career, giving you the coaching and mentoring that will allow you to flourish, and your caseload will be interesting and importantly manageable.

In addition, we offer the opportunity to work from home for at least 2-3 days per week and more if it suits you (at the moment the vast majority of all our colleagues at working from home 100%), there’s flexibility and a grown-up workplace.

Ideally you will have a good understanding of the litigation process within this niche area of law as you will get the opportunity to gain further exposure to a varied caseload. Typical matters may include:

  • Advising on disputes concerning the validity of wills or other trust documents
  • Disputes concerning the management and administration of trusts or estates
  • Disputes concerning deputies within the realm of Court of Protection
  • Any previous exposure to the Inheritance Act 1975 is advantageous

On top of all that we’re offering a basic salary of c.£40,000 (potentially higher dependent upon your capabilities) plus bonus, and a meritocratic environment which offers everyone the opportunity to progress based on their own capabilities and strengths.

If this sounds like you then we’d be keen to hear from you. Please send us a copy of your CV and our recruitment team will be in touch.
