Communications Manager - Global Law Firm
A leading global legal firm is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join their highly regarded Marketing & Business Development Department in London.
Working closely with Marketing & Business Development colleagues and senior partners of the firm, the role holder will play a key role in inputting into and leading the implementation of PR and communications activities designed to increase the market profile of the firm. The Communications Manager will drive diverse projects and initiatives to strengthen the brand of the firm within the London market and to improve engagement across practices and offices. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with trends and activities within the legal landscape, for both clients and competitors, and must understand the industry landscape and political and economic environment so as to be an effective advisor to leadership. The successful candidate will run the day-to-day activities of the London press office and manage UK media relations, including drafting and issuing press releases and organising media briefings. You will need to implement a comprehensive plan to monitor and manage media relations with the key business, financial and legal press in London, developing key messages and training designated spokespeople in delivering these messages. Co-ordinating legal and national award submissions and surveys and supporting the activation of local and global marketing campaigns internally and externally will also represent key aspects of this challenging and diverse role.
The ideal candidate must be an experienced PR and communications professional who can demonstrate a successful track record in large and dynamic organisations within a professional s, legal or financial services environment. Educated to degree level or equivalent you should be a superb writer and experienced in a wide range of communications tools, including press releases, speeches and presentations. Self-motivated, proactive and independent, the Communications Manager will have strong contacts with the media, especially at top-tier business publications, and a high level of experience working with business reporters.
