Sole Legal Counsel Job - Cheltenham/Remote Working

Your new company
Our client is undergoing impressive expansion and are looking to make a first-time appointment for a Legal Counsel to join their team. The team are currently working remotely however post-COVID you will be required to commute on an as needed basis to their office in Cheltenham, therefore it is likely that you will live within commuting distance. This is an important role for them and they are committed to completing a remote recruitment process and onboarding during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Your new role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Joint-Company Secretary, you will support the CEO, CFO and COO on a broad range of commercial projects, including any transactions such as acquisitions, financing, procurement contracts, offtake agreements, non-disclosure agreements etc. You will be responsible for supporting senior management on any legal, regulatory, litigation, reputational and risk management issues raised, including strategic initiatives, public statements, corporate governance and all on-going activities. You will also support the Company Secretary to ensure that all regulatory requirements/ corporate formalities are observed and will project manage the production of the Company's Annual Reports under the supervision of the CFO, as well as a advising on corporate communications, digital marketing and website content, including public statements, ESG strategy, reputational risk matters, vendor procurement agreements and relationships.

About You
You will have 3+ years of experience, preferably gained in-house. You should be comfortable dealing with corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance matters and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across all levels, functions and teams. Experienced paralegals with substantial experience of working in-house are also encouraged to apply. Experience of public company compliance and company secretarial matters, including drafting of AGM and EGM notices would be beneficial, as would prior experience of working in a business subject to either the Combined Code, QCA Code or AIM Rules.
