An award-winning, forward-thinking global law firm is recruiting for a Proposals Manager to join their team in London. The Proposals Manager will act as the central point of contact and project manager for major, multi-regional and multi-practice opportunities including, formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) for the firm's UK and EMEA offices. This person will be helping to lead, build and represent the global BD team in the UK and build consensus among the lawyers. The Proposals Manager will also manage two Senior Executives so experience of managing people is a must.

Responsibilities will include:

Act as the central point of contact and project manager for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Intent to Tender (ITT)and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) that come into the firmIn conjunction with other members of the Marketing and Business Development teams for Litigation, Corporate & Finance Transactions, Real Estate and Sector teams, execute a consistent process and best practice for responding to RFPsDevelop and maintain a set of standard firm language to use in connection with common RFP questionsDraft executive summaries for proposals, drawing out key points to highlight our value proposition and differentiating factorsEdit practice and other firm materials for proposals, pitches and presentations as neededCoordinate with lead lawyers and Business Development Managers (BDMs) on RFPs, and others as needed, to determine our overall approach, identify team members and establish an internal timetable to meet deadlinesCommunicates regularly with relevant lawyers and BDMs on progress toward deadlinesCoordinate with other members of the Marketing Department, as well as members of business services groupsManage project assignments and edit for consistency the work product of other marketing team members contributing to proposalsHelp maintain database of final proposals, collects feedback, tracks and reports results and communicates lessons learnedLook for opportunities to improve processes, resources and tools used to prepare proposals, pitches, presentations and other business development materialsEstablish process for updating firm's experience database and practice materials with new information gathered in proposalsManage and implement firmwide initiatives and other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will be an experienced bid specialist with excellent writing, editing and research skills, and strong previous experience of managing and responding to RFPs in a professional services environment. You will already have a track record of delivering against objectives and leading a team to success in a high-pressure environment, along with experience working in an environment that requires buy-in and engagement of senior management or partners, as well as working across cultures. First class organisational skills are essential, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
