Private Client Tax & Trusts lawyer (Managing Associate or Legal Director) 8+ years’ PQE LONDON

Well regarded law firm in London is seeking to recruit a Private Client Tax & Trusts lawyer (Managing Associate or Legal Director) of 8 or more years’ PQE. The team’s work involves both UK and cross-border transactions, international tax planning and tax advisory practices. They cover all the tax issues that any individuals and businesses are likely to face; from start-up; VAT; financing; growth capital; bolt-ons and joint ventures; the realisation and return of value; to succession and wealth preservation. Clients are a mix of ultra-high and high net worth individuals, institutions, investors, property developers, entrepreneurs, local authorities and charities. They advise UK and international clients on both direct and indirect taxes especially stamp duty land tax and VAT. The role will focus on supporting a wide range of UK and international clients with exposure to cross-border tax, estate planning, trust planning and philanthropy matters. This role will require a focus on providing tax, succession and estate planning advice with an international element and the co-ordination of advice in several different jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have experience in private wealth and specialise in personal tax, trusts and international and domestic wealth planning. You will have strong knowledge of both onshore and offshore tax and have comprehensive understanding of the law surrounding trusts and asset structuring in the UK and internationally. You will supervise your own matters, although with some large clients you will be working closely with other partners and legal directors. All applicants must have strong technical knowledge in tax and wealth planning with competent drafting skills.
