Data Protection lawyer 2+ years’ PQE LONDON

Highly-regarded commercial law firm in London is seeking a Data Protection and Privacy lawyer of 2 or more years’ PQE. The Data Protection and Privacy team comprises lawyers who are experts in advising on all aspects of compliance with data protection and privacy law. They are part of the Commercial Group whose clients include leading high-tech, pharmaceutical and other life sciences businesses, communications and digital platform operators. The group also advises financial institutions, software and IT hardware vendors, and global media groups. The quality of work is outstanding, often international in nature and the types of work you can expect to undertake include: • advisory work as to how to address difficult and evolving aspects of data processing practices • deep dives into areas that are challenging for compliance eg. adtech • urgent support on data incidents, including handling the ICO inquiries and related litigation • conflicts of law issues that arise in respect of international transfers (as well as more recent Schrems II work, they frequently advise on the transfer of data for cross border litigation and regulatory actions) • projects e.g. new product developments, establishing global privacy programmes • mechanisms to facilitate cross border transfers • audits to confirm whether companies are compliant • digital commercial work corporate support.

You will be joining a collegiate and close-knit team, with a good mix of standalone work and cross-disciplinary work involving other teams across the firm.
