Description
Some of the key responsibilities for this role will include as below
The primary responsibility is reviewing Commercial Contracts in relation to our clients suppliers in accordance with their supplier management risk statement and appetite; this will include reviewing, interpreting, drafting, amending and negotiating various types of commercial documents
Working collaboratively within the Commercial & Procurement team from a commercial law perspective
Supporting the business in the procurement and contract reviews process
Designing and delivering training and guidance for the wider Commercial & Procurement team and the business
Staying up to date with changes to relevant legislation, rules and regulations
Supporting and inputting into the design and production of management information, being accountable for producing contracting management information
Profile
Candidates from either a private practice or in house/ local authority background should apply for this role. Candidates with some of the below knowledge and experience might be a good fit for the role
Sound commercial awareness and judgement, with an ability to provide commercially focused contractual and commercial advice proportionate to the legal, reputational and operational risks inherent in the task at hand
Good technical drafting and negotiating skills are essential with knowledge of public procurement law, being a distinct advantage
Familiarity with IT contracts is desirable
An understanding of different contract structures including frameworks, single service agreements and supplier terms is a must
Knowledge of data protection, freedom of information law and IT/IP will be a distinct advantage
Prior in-house experience desirable but not essential
