Badenoch + Clark are delighted to be supporting a not-for-profit Social Housing provider in the appointment of their first In-House Property Lawyer. Our client provides affordable housing for thousands of people across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Midlands.

Our client currently deals with a varied caseload of legal matters internally such as data protection, anti-social behaviour issues and housing disrepair. Traditionally all Property legal work from land acquisition, to section 106 agreements, plot sales and shared ownership staircasing has been outsourced to their panel of legal firms. This role is to bring the plot sales, associated right-to-buy and shared ownership files in-house for the first time.

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor, Lawyer or experienced Conveyancer with a demonstrable track record of success in property law and specifically in new build plot sales. It is crucial for applicants to have had the experience of handling an unsupervised caseload of plot sales transactions because whilst you will have line management assistance internally, you will be solely responsible for the drafting and creation of precedents and legal documents internally. You will take ownership of your caseload and have engagement with clients and colleagues across the business. It's especially important to be able to create strong relationships with the development team and be involved in marketing and business development activities. An appointment could be considered from 3 years PQE upwards.

Person Specification:
- Strong technical skills and excellent academic qualifications.
- Be a team player and able to work with colleagues across the offices.
- Competent at dealing with clients.
- Strong communication skills with a strong practical approach to your workload.
- A commitment to delivering quality service.
- Ability to juggle the demands of a heavy workload.
