This rapidly growing UK Fin-Tech company have established themselves as a key player in the market offering over 50 million small businesses a new way of securing loans. The business has expanded into five new countries in the last year, and now, with over £60 million in funding, they are on a mission to expand their footprint.
The GC is now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to act as their number two supporting on all legal and compliance issues affecting the business. The idea is that this role will quickly develop into a "head of legal" position as the GC focusses more on board strategy and compliance related work and is therefore an excellent opportunity for a junior/mid-level lawyer looking for quick progression in a fast growing fin-tech.
Candidates will ideally have some prior in-house experience (secondment experience will be considered) and preference is given to those with prior exposure to a fin-tech environment or financial services more generally. For guidance purposes only, this role will likely suit someone between 3-6 PQE (candidates outside of this range still encouraged to apply). To match the calibre and quality of the existing legal function, it is likely candidates will have trained at a well regarded city law firm or in-house team. Although a broad mixture of corporate/commercial experience is ideal, this role will suit anyone coming from a Corporate/Finance/Commercial practice.
On offer is the chance to rapidly springboard your career with access to a very broad range of work and senior stakeholders in the business from day one. The salary on offer will be reflective of an earlier stage fin-tech business and dependent on candidate experience (circa £70,000 - £75,000 + bonus and benefits).
Those available immediately or at short notice will be given preference due to the immediate need for this hire.
