My client is a multi-service law firm with offices in the North West and the Head Office in Manchester, and they are in the market for a Head of Family within the Legal Aid offering. They will work with the Managing Director to develop the new Family team they are building and be able to work at any of the offices in the North West
Your role will be to manage a varied caseload of publicly funded family matters including matters such as; childcare (acting for parents), non-molestation orders and domestic violence. In addition, there may be some exposure to private divorce cases. You'll provide legal advice to clients on all relevant matters and undertake your own advocacy.
You must be a Family Lawyer/Care Solicitor with proven experience in handling a legal aid caseload, likely 5yrs+ PQE Family Solicitor, Legal Executive (FCILEx) . Ideally, you'll be a member of the Family Law Children's Panel or Resolution although this is not essential. LAA Supervisor status would be highly advantageous.
