SENIOR IMMIGRATION SOLICITOR
BIRMINGHAM
£35K - £55K
My client is a multi-service law firm and they are keen to bring on a Senior Immigration solicitor who has experience with privately funded or Corporate immigration matters. The firm has a steady flow of immigration matters and are looking for someone to drive the department forward.
The ideal candidate for the role of immigration solicitor will have at least five years' experience handling their own varied immigration case load, and must be fully conversant in immigration matters.
We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills, both written and oral, and who are highly organized and are able to work under pressure.You will be confident in your ability to handle a range of different types of files.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Immigration Solicitor used to dealing with Corporate or Private funded clients with strong business development skills.
Tasks;
Manage own caseload of private client or Corporate Immigration matters.
Actively manage and develop client relationships
Liaise directly with the UKBA
Completion of forms, letters and applications
Manage & Supervise junior members of staff
Research
Work with clients on appeals to the Immigration Tribunal against decisions involving such matters as the UK Border Agency refusing to grant a visa extension, permanent residency (indefinite leave to remain), or refusing to issue entry clearance to enter the UK or deporting an individual from the UK
Ensure immigration knowledge up to date and is familiar with all relevant legislation
Liaise closely with other fee earners in the team and with clients

- Be a driven and proactive individual who isn't afraid to seek advice when required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally have a following or have competent business development skills.
