Duties:

  • Advise and conduct legal files on behalf of all the clients, including local authorities, housing associations and schools and to provide advice, representation and undertake research as requested in relation to Contracts, Procurement & Information matters
  • Attend at meetings and courtwhich may take place outside of normal office hours and off site as required
  • Advise officers and members, including in public forums, in a proactive and politically sensitive manner
  • Give guidance, mentor and give training to less experienced team members
  • Deputise for senior lawyers as and when required

Dimensions

  • The post holder will be a member of a team of specialist lawyers, and will be expected to contribute to the development of that team, HB Public Law and the wider Legal and Governance department
  • The post holder will maintain a significant caseload in compliance with Lexcel requirements, and uphold the highest standards of client care in everything they do
  • The post holder will support the clients, including local authorities in West London and the Home Counties, schools and housing organisations
  • The post reports to the Team Leader or nominee for Contracts, Procurement & Information
