Operations Director/Practice Director - Legal 500 - West End London

Salary £80- £120k plus benefits

This leading very successful Legal 500 firm in Central London, are now seeking to recruit a  Operations Director./ Practice Manager to work alongside with the Managing Partner.

Details of the role:

  • To develop a strategy for enhanced operational integration across  the firm, to maximise productivity and improve commercial practice
  • To lead the implementation of new and revised operational procedures, ensuring the right processes are in place and the context for change is understood and agreed
  • To ensure that the business support functions are fully integrated with legal practice to optimise the Firm’s operating capabilities, improve efficiencies and minimise risk
  • To contribute to the firm’s future planning

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Finance

  • Working with the FD, conduct an audit of all key financial processes to improve financial operations, to include;
  • Clear management reporting to promote performance transparency
  • Forecasting methodologies
  • Cash Flow, Credit Control and Bad Debt management systems
  • WIP management and Lock up reporting
  • Operational costs and potential optimisation

Operations and Performance

  • Working with:
  • Work generation
  • Output quality standards
  • Speed of delivery
  • Billing, pricing and profitability
  • New business development processes and cross referrals
  • Working with the Head of IT, Software Training Advisor and Operations & HR Co-ordinator, identify and develop a plan to improve day to day working operations, to include;
  • Working with the Equity Partners, scope out the marketing agenda and priorities to achieve;
  • New marketing initiatives

People

  • Working with HR, review the priorities for the people agenda;
  • Support the Managing Partner with workflow management
  • Upgrade the Firm’s onboarding experience, with particular reference to building early working knowledge around key operational processes
  • Ensure new HR system is linked with other working practices as required
  • Contribute to the career development workstream and defining the path to promotion
