LAW Absolute is working with a local authority based in North West London in their search for a Property Litigation Lawyer. The position is being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract to start ASAP.
The successful Property Litigation Lawyer will be required to provide proactive, clear and concise legal advice and assistance to the Housing Client Department.
You will provide specialist legal advice and assistance on all aspects of recovery of arrears of service and major works charges due to the councils long residential leases through possession proceedings and forfeiture.
You will need to show an ability to work proactively, as you will be required to consult and advise the client department on strategies to reduce the likelihood of arrears but also increase the collection of arrears when they happen.
As the successful Property Litigation Lawyer, you will have experience conducting litigation up to and including trial, and will instruct Counsel as appropriate. There will also be a requirement to manage legal assistants on an ad hoc basis.
As this is a fixed term contract role, our client is seeking candidates available on no more than 4 weeks’ notice. Our client is looking to ideally interview week commencing Monday 28th February 2021.
Previous local authority experience within this area of law would be advantageous. You will be required to have a current practising certificate.
