Technical Lawyer Opportunity - Leeds

A well established Conveyancing firm is looking to recruit a Technical Lawyer to join their Remortgage Technical Services department in Leeds City Centre.

This is a rare opportunity for a Qualified Conveyancer to move away from the constant barrage of Client calls to a quieter environment, although there will be some client contact it will certainly offer respite from Sales and Purchase teams.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

•To provide legal and process support to the technical services teams which will include, but is not limited to query's they have on referrals relating to :- shared ownership, lease extensions, non- standard restrictions, help to buy, transfer's of equity, unregistered properties, non-standard leasehold issues and unusual title defects.
•To work alongside the Lead Lawyer to ensure all referrals are completed within the agreed turn around targets and done so in a manner in keeping with business and client lender requirements. On the team business specific training will be given.
•To work alongside the Technical Manager and Lead Lawyer to ensure service remains first-class and to facilitate the overall smooth running of the technical team's work load.
•To provide positive constructive feedback to the Technical Team Manager/Lead Lawyer as appropriate, to ensue wider training needs are identified.
•To stay in the know on conveyancing issues/forthcoming legislation that may impact on existing processes and working alongside the Lead Lawyer ensure these are adapted accordingly.
•To identify process and policy improvements.

Desirable Attributes:

Qualified Licenced Conveyancer/CILEX or qualified Solicitor.
•Experience in dealing with and understanding the key principles of shared ownership transactions/lease extensions/ transfers of equity and unregistered properties.
•Excellent commercial awareness.
•Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
•Excellent investigatory skills with the ability to quickly assimilate facts on relatively complex files, identify patterns and form connections.
•Ability to use own initiative.
•Excellent organisational and time management skills
•Desire to widen conveyancing knowledge and commitment to additional reading outside of working hours to stay up-to-date on current conveyancing issues.

Salary is competitive £28K -£30K DOE with staff benefits
