Corporate/Banking/Finance Lawyer - Perfect combination of high-quality work and great lifestyle – based in Guernsey.
This well-known offshore law firm advises an international client base on some of the most interesting work in the Channel Islands market. As part of its growth in Guernsey it is looking for experienced UK qualified lawyers (likely to be in the 2-6 years’ pqe range) with a background in one or more of corporate, banking and finance or funds/financial services. This is a broad role that spans the transactional practice areas, so it should appeal to someone who really enjoys a bit of variety and who is keen to take on more responsibility, both in executing work and in client development. Opportunities for career progression are good. Whilst this would be a good fit for a City lawyer seeking a change, it might also appeal to a lawyer who is currently with a leading firm outside of London and who is attracted by the opportunity to do City style work without the lifestyle implications of working in a City law firm.
The Channel Islands
For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world’s premier offshore financial centres. Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors, housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks. They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture. Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically three or four months later, depending on notice period. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with licenses (where applicable) and relocation, including temporary accommodation on arrival.
