Boutique litigation law firm is looking to hire a new Arbitration paralegal on an initial 3 to 4-month fixed term contract to assist with the ever-growing workload.  This role will assist the lawyers in various types of arbitration litigation and investigation work for upcoming, pending and potential cases.  Provide assistance in the preparation of legal documents; research and compilation of data from various legal references as well as the maintenance of case files.  Work, other than primary duties, is allocated on a case-by-case basis or as specifically requested by a lawyer.  Duties will include being asked to gather, organise, summarise and index documents/chronologies for cases which are fact/document heavy; draft correspondence, disclosure requests and responses and other related documents; prepare and maintain documents and bundles to be used at hearings and proceedings (hard copies and soft copy PDFs, including pagination); liaise directly with clients and third parties; set up and manage hardcopy and electronic case files; proofread arbitration and litigation and other documents; conduct business and legal research utilising online resources including but not limited to press, public documents, individuals (potential experts or meeting participants); make regular trips to court to file documents, take notes of hearings; track cases on Bloomberg Law/in the media and update the team; identify and highlight case law (Westlaw); file management – update shared drives and hard copy folders with key documents; maintain and develop know-how/precedents filing and database and manage document translation with external providers.   Applicants need to have a university degree; 2.1 or above desirable; 2.2 acceptable, or similar qualification if equivalent standing, having the GDL (if original degree is not in a legal discipline) and LPC essential and a minimum 3 A ‘level grades A-C, or similar qualification of equivalent standing.  Previous paralegal experience is essential, with at least 12 months having worked in International Arbitration being a must.  Applicants need to have a strong technical skills in all Microsoft Office and Internet applications; strong administration skills and attention to detail; excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others and assist co-workers and clients to achieve their goals and assignments.  Salary will be £40,000 with overtime available plus standard hours are 9am to 5:30pm.
