The Role

This Top 20 International firm is seeking a construction disputes senior associate 4-7 PQE to join their construction disputes group in their City of London office.

The construction disputes team is part of a wider group of a world-class disputes team, recognised for their providing commercial astute advice across all the main dispute forums. The team's extensive experience covers commercial and industrial real estate; rail, road, port and airport infrastructure, power generation facilities; oil and gas facilities; mining and ancillary transport and logistical facilities.

As a senior associate, you will be taking on high levels of responsibility to supervise juniors, manage client relationships at the front end, and spearhead high-value cross-border disputes. You will be given the right platform to progress within a dynamic team.

You will be:

  • Focusing on high-value domestic and international cross-border contentious construction work across a range of sectors including infrastructure, transport, energy and natural resources.
  • Acting for major developers, contractors, funders, and employers whilst managing client relationships at the front end.
  • Obtain a high level of responsibility for day-to-day management of contentious matters, reporting to and working closely alongside partners.
  • Working closely with the firm's award-winning banking and projects practice on a range of matters

Requirements

  • UK qualified (or other common-law jurisdiction) with 4-7 years PQE gained at a City / Top international firm. (Senior Associates are encouraged to apply and will be considered for a more senior position)
  • Excellent academic background
  • Solid experience acting for commercial clients in contentious matters encompassing domestic, international and cross-border issues
  • Experience working in energy, infrastructure, transport and resources sectors and on project financed matters
