Newly created, permanent Privacy Counsel role in a growing London-based team. Opportunity for remote working.

Our client, a multinational technology company, is looking to appoint a Privacy Counsel to assist the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel, Privacy with our Privacy Program and to assist with the privacy aspects of contract negotiations especially those related to the GDPR, CCPA and industry self-regulations. The Privacy Counsel will also provide support to the global legal team and data policy & governance team on privacy questions and will help contribute to the ongoing enhancement of privacy operations and policies.

You will:

  • Partner with our client's sales teams and ecosystem teams to provide time sensitive privacy subject-matter support for commercial agreements
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating data processing agreements and contract updates required under the GDPR and CCPA
  • Partner with our client's technology organisation to conduct data privacy impact assessments and to ensure that privacy-by-design is embedded into products
  • Providing legal advice on the GDPR, CCPA, and other legislative and regulatory enhancements and industry self-regulations
  • Advising on new data use cases and product offerings, assisting with the updating of records e. data mapping, updating and developing new policies, procedures, and guidance documents as needed
  • Coordinating work with the global legal team to ensure consistent approach and application of legal agreements and risk framework locally, regionally and worldwide

You are:

  • Qualified solicitor
  • Experience ideally gained within both a law firm and in-house.
  • Experience with software and technology is essential, and experience with data or advertising technology and online advertising would be strongly preferred.
  • A creative problem solver with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting priorities
