Court of Protection

You will inherit a busy caseload of work so you will be expected to hit the ground running. The team handles a broad range of work from deputyship and local authority cases to people who have suffered major long term injuries resulting from clinical negligence or a major accident, which has left them unable to make key decisions relating to their own welfare.

Obviously, the work involved can be highly sensitive and sometimes distressing for members of the family of the client. It is therefore expected that you should not only be a good team player internally, but should also have a strong empathetic 'bedside manner' as building firm relationships with clients and their families can often be key.

It is worth also noting that this team also works closely with other areas of the firm the Private Client Practice Group involved with administering trusts and financial planning and the critical injury team.
