Legal Counsel

Due to a recent round of fundraising, this exciting scale-up is now looking for a second lawyer to join the General Counsel in providing first class legal and compliance support to the business. As an innovative medical device business, this company has developed technology which directly improves the quality of care cancer patients receive.

Based at their offices in Cambridge (post-lockdown!) this legal counsel role will report into the GC and work closely with many areas of the business on a wide variety of areas including:

Drafting, analysing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts (including NDAs, heads of terms, consultancy agreements, supply and purchase agreements etc) as well as provide guidance to business stakeholders on IP, Legal Compliance (including ABC and Privacy) and Regulatory related issues. The legal counsel role will likely include providing legal support (including managing external counsel where appropriate) on many other areas as per business needs (for example: Corporate Law, Company Secretarial, Employment, Property etc.)

For guidance purposes only, it is likely candidates will have around 1-3 years of post qualified experience within commercial law; sector experience is advantageous but by no means essential and candidates directly from private practice are also encouraged to apply as well as those already sitting in an in-house legal team.
