Our client, an internationally respected firm, are looking for a senior knowledge lawyer to join them to advise the Corporate Team
This is an opportunity to join the London Corporate practice's existing Knowledge team, consisting of experienced Knowledge Lawyers and information specialists. The role would advise the firm' Corporate team, which works on some of the largest and most complex M&A transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, restructurings and corporate advisory work.
The role would offer practical and insightful knowhow and advice to lawyers, predominantly in London but also across the global network. Key to achieving this goal is the need to keep abreast of legal developments and work closely with our transactional lawyers in order to ensure that deal knowhow and insights are collated, analysed and shared across the Corporate Practice.
What you will be responsible for
Legal/regulatory
* Analysing forthcoming legal/regulatory developments in order to brief lawyers and clients on their impact (including preparing client briefings or client presentation materials for the client team to use) and to update internal resources e. templates/Topic Guides.
* Responding to fee earner queries on legal and regulatory matters, including on legal/regulatory developments.
* Contributing to relevant legal/regulatory consultation responses.
* Supporting corporate partners on work relating to external legal committees, such as the Company Law Committees of the Law Society and CLLS.
* Prepare and present summaries on legal/regulatory developments at Corporate Finance Knowhow Committee meetings.
Knowledge sharing
* Encouraging knowledge sharing by fee earners and the submission of knowhow to a shared knowledge database.
* Facilitating post deal reviews, analysis and knowledge consolidation.
* Assisting with the development and maintenance of the SPA clause bank and SPA collection.
* Consider better ways in which knowledge can be shared and develop other knowledge databases e. Topic Guides.
Templates
* Maintaining and updating existing private M&A, JV, company law (including share capital) templates.
* Identifying and creating new templates as required.
* Improving the accessibility and ease of use of templates, including template automation.
Training
* Assisting in preparation and delivery of training on private M&A, JVs and company law (including share capital).
* Delivery of knowhow updates to the Corporate Finance Practice.
* Promoting and assisting fee earners with use of AI software alongside our Best Delivery Team.
In order to be considered, you must be a mid to senior level lawyer or existing Knowledge Lawyer (PSL) (4-7 year PQE ideally) with significant experience in M&A (including private M&A, joint ventures and reorganisations) and company/corporate law advisory work.
You will have an excellent academic background. You will have strong drafting skills, good attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You should also have strong communication and analytical skills, along with a high level of commercial awareness, and a strong track record of keeping abreast of legal developments.
