Are you a Legal Executive looking to make a meaningful impact and help us in making the ordinary possible for children and young people with autism?

Ambitious about Autism is currently looking for a Legal Executive to join the team as a Learner and Family Support Welfare Officer for an initial 12-month contract. As part of our London team, you will provide legally based advice, information and advocacy to the families and young people using our services in the areas of social care, health and special educational needs.

About Us

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide services, raise awareness and understanding as well as campaign for change. Through TreeHouse School, Ambitious College and The Rise School we provide specialist education and support to children and young people, aged 4 to 25, with autism.

About the Role

The Learner and Family Support Welfare Officer / Legal Executive will play a key role in supporting families who are dealing with challenging situations and often need legal advice, support and representation to access services to which they are entitled. Our Learner and Family Support team was created to provide bespoke support and legal advice for our families. This small and welcoming team works to the highest standards and offers a varied and interesting case load. 

About You

We are looking to hire a Legal Executive who demonstrates:

• Knowledge and experience of social care law, policy and practice.
• Knowledge of the special educational needs legal framework.
• Experience of providing advice, support and representation to families with disabled children and young people.

• Interest in developing strong, supportive and positive relationships with our families of the children and young people who access our settings.

We would also consider a qualified person where we would cover the cost of your practising certificate fees.
