Healthcare Advisory Solicitor / Associate - Our client is a leading national law firm with a distinguished reputation in the field of healthcare work. This is a highly technical area of the law concerning serious, often delicate issues concerning mental capacity, deprivation of liberty, Court of Protection and patient welfare issues, as well as high profile inquest work. They are looking for a solicitor with a solid background in this area to further strengthen the Manchester team.

Range of clients and top quality work
The healthcare advisory team advise a range of clients and public bodies on various matters relating to mental health law including the Mental Health Act as well as issues surrounding the restraint and detention of patients as well as false imprisonment. The team also advises on governance issues and other regulatory matters which pertain to the social care sector.
This is a highly technical, yet also delicate area of the law requiring a range of skills. It also demands a knowledge of the key mechanisms in this field, such as the Mental Health Review Tribunal, Judicial Review and the Court of Protection.
The team is highly regarded with many noted and ranked in the press such as Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.

It is important that this role is seen very much as a step up for the right candidate who is looking ahead towards senior associateship and beyond. Whilst the successful candidate will inherit an active caseload of files, they will also be encouraged to develop their own work and contacts within the sector so strong client care skills are a must as is a readiness to be involved in business development.
