Senior Legal Counsel Job - Bristol/Remote Working

Your new company
My client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their impressive in house legal function in Bristol. This role will offer work of the very highest quality to be found in an in house environment. This wide ranging role will form part of a wider team based in Bristol and the role holder will lead on complex commercial matters providing quality and timely legal support and/or advice. This is a permanent role and the company are flexible regarding working pattern. The team are currently working remotely however post-COVID you will be required to commute to their office in Bristol two days per week, therefore it is likely that you will live within commuting distance. Part-time hours will also be considered (four days per week).

Your new role
You will lead on complex commercial supplier and customer strategic matters, providing quality and timely legal advice legal support and/or advice across Consumer Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Digital including advice on complex bids, in-life, partnering, strategy, disputes and procurement, with a particularly heavy focus on commercial legal transactional and advisory work to senior stakeholders across their Consumer Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Digital teams. You will be interacting closely with senior stakeholders to convey key issues succinctly and concisely.

About You
Our client are looking for a UK qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 3+ years PQE, with substantial experience preferably in-house, or gained at a high quality national or international law firm. You will be a first-class technical lawyer with extensive experience in commercial contracts, ideally with knowledge of technology and a comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in which Consumers operate. You will be comfortable influencing/delivering strategically important projects with the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and will have excellent drafting, communication, stakeholder management, organisation, influencing and persuading skills. You should be experienced in detailed legal analysis and delivery of advice in the context of broader commercial strategy. The ability to supervise more junior team members and/or overseeing and being responsible for the work of others is desirable.
