Contested Probate solicitor -an Associate role with a multi office legal 100 law firm based in Birmingham -3+PQE

The team

The successful candidate will be part of a large enthusiastic team based in our clients Birmingham office

This is a highly successful and growing Contentious Probate team at a well-run legal 100 law firm, with a very healthy regional / national client base. This is altogether an excellent firm to work for, with real potential for the right person. You will be working directly alongside Partner level colleagues and encouraged to develop a major niche role within Contentious Probate for the firm.

The person

You will ha minimum of 3+PQE substantial experience in Contested Probate or Litigation (personal or property) in a national law firm or large regional firm.

Your key duties will include:

Dealing with a broad range of contentious trusts and probate cases

running own case load efficiently and cost effectively and within strict service level agreements as required by the client

advising clients about the strengths and weaknesses of their cases

Handling large complex matters, and you will also be building up your own caseload of straightforward matters

having active involvement in business development activities, both individually and as part of a team

attending and conducting client meetings

drafting and preparing court documents in a time sensitive manner

Skills and experience you will have:

we would be open to considering candidates with a background dealing in non-contentious private client probate matters or broad contentious litigation experience, with exposure to probate

experience in dealing with clients on a day-to-day basis

This is an important appointment for the firm and we would encourage applications from Lawyers with 3+PQE up to a more senior level with good quality experience, including some specific Contentious Trusts and Probate matters. This role would suit an ambitious candidate who is looking to take that next major career step to a position with potential.

Salary £40,000-£70,000
